Press Release: Brisbane Professionals Converge on City Hall

The who’s who of Brisbane’s professional service sectors will gather in the Brisbane City Hall on Thursday evening for the launch of the much anticipated book Social Media is Not Enough to Maximise your MarketAbility written by two of the city’s success stories; Mark Vincent and Margot de Groot.

Professor Peter Little, deputy Vice Chancellor at QUT, who wrote the foreward for the book, is launching it and Dr John DeGroot, recent past president of the Queensland Law Society is hosting the event. They will be joined by hundreds of our city’s brightest, including members of the judiciary, Chancellor Tim Fairfax(QUT), retired High Court judge Ian Callinan, shadow Attorney General Ian Walker, Sarina Russo… Don Boyd, former deputy global chief of Norton Rose Fulbright, is attending even though it’s his wedding anniversary!

The launch of this landmark resource for professionals comes in the 30th anniversary year of de Groots wills and estate lawyers and celebrates the development of the firm’s publishing and education arm.

About the Authors:

Mark Vincent is the founder and a Director of Insight Plus, a boutique consultancy specialising in facilitation, mediation, and executive education. Insight Plus, celebrating its 21st anniversary in 2016, has worked with clients in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, the United Kingdom and Germany. His clients have included BHP Billiton, Australia Post, Royal Australian Air Force, Boeing Defence, Royal Australian Flying Doctor Service, Toyota Motor Corporation of Australia, Boral Ltd, KPMG, Moore Stephens Australia, Queensland Law Society, Institute of Internal Auditors Australia, CEO Institute. Mark is Chairman of the Motorama Group of companies and sits on the Boards of Attitude Pictures (NZ) and the Altec Group. He is also on the Advisory Board of de Groots Wills and Estate Lawyers.

He is an ordained Anglican priest in the Diocese of Southern Queensland and is a member of the Board of ChaplainWatch

Margot de Groot has been practising law for over 30 years. She is a Notary Public, a graduate of Harvard Business School’s OPM program and founder of de Groots wills and estate lawyers, a specialist legal practice with offices in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. As a mother of two children (now adults), work/life balance has been an ongoing challenge. It has led her to look at ways to maximise effectiveness in her professional life.
